Adaptive Online Course

IEC lab - Texas A&M university, College Station

The main objective of this project is to provide course content based on student's level of expertise on a particular skill. In this project, I created an intelligent assessment module, that provides any math-based practice problem to the student based on their level of expertise. I had to build a flexible API that evaluates the steps performed by the student on any assessment.

SimStudent is an AI agent that learns to solve algebraic equation from the user. The user's learning experience is determined by their teaching capabilities. My primary responsibility was to fix bugs and implement new features. During spring 2017, more than 200+ students used this application and interesting insights about their learning behavior was published in Artificial Intelligence In Education 2018

Server Monitoring Dashboard

Tata Consultancy Services, Chennai

Developed a dashboard for monitoring servers running under production environment. Rather than typing long UNIX commands, the server administrator can start /stop the server and also view critical parameters like CPU utilization, memory, response time etc., Earlier the server administrator had to hire at least 3 to 6 people to gather the health report of each server. Now he can view the health report of all servers on a click of a mouse.

CS 598 Information Retrieval, Mining and Integration on Internet

The main objective of this project is to understand different techniques used for retriving webpages related to a query. I implemented three different approaches : TF-IDF method, Page Rank algorithm and Hub-Authorities algorithm.

Technical Learning outcomes: I learnt how to sort objects based on their properties using Comparator.

In this team project, the main objective is to perform geo-spatial operations effectively on 10 GB of data. The dataset was stored in Hadoop nodes and the algorithm for geo-spatial operations was written using Apache Spark.

CS 570 Distributed Database Systems

The main objective of this project is to understand the strategies & technologies used for handling huge SQL data. The project is divided into 3 sections. In the first section, I had to partition a table into chunks using round-robin and range partition scheme. In the second section, I had to write algorithm to perform select, join and range queries on the partitions. For the third section, I used Map Reduce to find equijoin between two tables.

Apart from being a developer, I enjoy watching documentaries and detective movies. Being an outdoorsman , I like a documentary about Satyoma ("Unusual Kitchen Helpers - wild Japan") . This documentary tells how carp fishes are used for keeping water fresh.

I enjoy watching classic movies like Sound of Music and I also enjoy reading Indian mythology stories
